Turn-key Solution for Cardiac Rehabilitation
Lode offers a turn-key solution for cardiac rehabilitation. The complete solution consists of our intuitive and user-friendly LCRM software, a very compact wearable ECG streamer and is completed with our reliable Lode rehab ergometers.
The LCRM software (#950902) is unique and control the Lode rehab devices. It helps the test operator to prepare cardiac rehabilitation sessions by the possibility to predefine protocols and test groups. The software also documents all relevant data (e.g. ECG, BPM, SpO2, Speed, Inclination, RPM, Load, etc) for later analysis and provides individual reports and continuous ECG control. The test operator can rely on the quality of the software and thus focus on the patients. The extensive patient database can work as a stand-alone database or linked to a SQL server. Of course HL7 connection to the Hospital Information System (HIS) is possible.
The compact 2-channel ECG streamer (#950920) is wearable and wireless. This makes it possible for the test subject to move around the ergometer and perform all kind of exercises while the ECG data are still monitored. The batteries of multiple ECG streamers can be charged using a USB cord or simultaneously in a docking station.
Each Cardiac Rehabilitation Solution is custom made, based on the requirements of the user. You can use part number #950902 for ordering the LCRM software for a setting with 2 stress test devices. To evaluate the effect of cardiac rehabilitation and exercise training on depression after major cardiac events, we studied 338 consecutive patients in whom a major cardiac event had occurred 4 to 6 weeks previously and who were participating in phase II cardiac rehabilitation consisting of 36 sessions over a 3-month period. Depressive symptoms and other behavioral characteristics and quality-of-life parameters were analyzed by validated questionnaire. Depression was prevalent in patients with coronary heart disease, occurring in 20% of the patients evaluated. At baseline, depressed patients had lower exercise capacity, reduced high-density lipoprotein cholesterol level, and higher triglyceride levels; had lower scores for mental health, energy or fatigue, general health, pain, overall function, well-being, and total quality of life; and had greater scores for somatization, anxiety, and hostility than those of nondepressed patients. After cardiac rehabilitation, depressed patients had marked improvements in depression scores and other behavioral parameters (anxiety, somatization, and hostility) and quality of life. Depressed patients also showed improved exercise capacity, percentage of body fat, and levels of triglycerides and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Depressed patients exhibited statistically greater improvements in certain behavioral and quality-of-life parameters than did nondepressed patients. Two thirds of the patients who were initially depressed resolved their symptoms by study completion. In conclusion, depression is reduced in patients with symptomatic coronary heart disease patients enrolled in cardiac rehabilitation. Greater emphasis is needed to ensure that depressed patients are referred to and attend formal cardiac rehabilitation programs after major cardiac events.

Physical activities are a natural necessity and — just as targeted training — result in lower cardiovascular and overall mortality of cardiac patients, while also improving these patients’ prognosis, quality of life, and physical performance. They can therefore be considered an independent therapeutic method that is equal to therapy approaches based on medication, intervention, and surgery and can supplement them in a meaningful way. Sports therapy and physical education measures help patients acquire individual resources and abilities and have the potential to contribute to a change in exercise-related lifestyle. According to current insights, a beneﬁcial exercise and training program for cardiac patients should include endurance and strength training. The following training recommendations for cardiac patients are intended to allow for therapeutically supported, dosed, controlled, and hence, successful management of training measures for people with cardiovascular diseases.

Q - Is it possible to control the Lode ergometers and treadmills with external equipment

Yes, you can find interface sheets for most common devices on the website at the "service" tab of this website. If your device is not present you can ask us to support you. In most cases we can quickly provide you with a solution.

Q - Can the Valiant be controlled by LCRM?

Yes the Valiant Treadmill can be controlled by LCRM. The treadmill is supplied with a RS232 port and can be controlled by a seperate com port.

Q - Is the SpO2 option compatible with LCRM?

Yes the SpO2 results are visible during the rehab session.

Q - How do I switch off the ECG module.

For turning off the legacy ECG module (950910/950913) - Hold the power button for a few seconds until the LED turns an amber color. Continue holding the button until the LED blinks and goes amber again. On the second amber flash, release the power button. This will power down the device.

Q - Can I loop Lode rehab products easily?

Yes! It is very easy to create a comfortable rehab setting with Lode rehab products by looping the ergometers:

The first Lode rehab ergometer can be connected to the PC with LCRM with a Lode proprietary network to PC cable (#930930).
The second product up till the last product can be connected to the previous one, a bus network configuration.

The last product always needs a termination plug to avoid interference and loss of data. All Lode rehab products come standard with such a termination plug.
